About the Global Martial Arts Association
The association began with one community dojo in North Texas, which opened in 2004 by Sensei Jon Hodge, along with his son Michael. After teaching countless classes to students in the area, and creating his own weapons instructional curriculuma, "Sensei" Michael Hodge launched Ultimate Training in 2007. Ultimate Bo and Ultimate Chuks were made available for both students and instructors/school owners to train, earn rank through distance training, and instructor certifications. Since then, thousands of martial artists around the world have purchased, trained, and learned from our video instructional programs. Our association also trains and ranks students in physical facilities in the USA and Europe.
We offer students from anywhere in the world the opportunity to earn rank and certifications through the Global Martial Arts University. Home study students are given a great deal of support and training attention, which makes it much more feasible to grasp the understanding of the art at hand. We hold our distance training students to the same standard of proficiency as our physical training students. We have a proven system of video rank exams, feedback loop, and progress indicators which we have fine-tuned over the last seven years. We are 100% committed to upholding the values of martial arts training, and making training more accessible. In the past, you were limited to learning only from local instructors, now you have the ability to train in new styles and weapons with an accredited organization.
The association exists to give students, instructors, and school operators a common backbone of structure and guidance through their respective martial arts training programs.

About the Global Martial Arts University
The Global Martial Arts University is the online/e-learning component of our association. We offer complete home study courses which teach the full curriculum, offer training drills, home follow along classes, a training guide, instructor support, and real rank testing. Each course is offered in DVD edition or streaming video edition; you can choose whichever you prefer. We offer video rank exams, instructor feedback/suggestions, and recognized rank accreditation through our courses. Think of our distance training program as a way to learn martial arts at home while progressing with actual certified belts/rank, just like how almost all credible Universities now offer online classes.
The Abundance Projects
Each month, a significant portion of our proceeds go to The Abundance Projects. This is a positive-action initiative which we have undertaken for the best and highest good of everyone. The primary goal is to motivate martial artists to become leaders in their community, and create “abundance projects” which are based in the mindset of prosperity, rather than lack or disparity.
