Modern Applictions of Old-School Hojo Undō Training: The Secret to More Power, Endurance and Conditioning

Hojo undō (補助運動) is a Japanese word that means “supplementary exercises” utilizing various types of traditional equipment that can be traced back to ancient Chinese martial arts. Hojo undō training is used to develop muscular strength, endurance, power, speed, and strong posture required for martial arts. This training is also used to develop mental toughness and resilience. The World’s First Online Martial Arts Tournament

A decade ago, the GMAU was one of the first legitimate online schools to begin offering internationally accredited home ranking courses. As an organization, we are always pushing the boundaries forward to create the best and most realistic training experience possible for our global students. A few years back, I had a crazy little idea to hold an online tournament. I decided to shelf the concept into the recesses of my brain for some time. Earlier this year, it resurfaced, and we set out to engineer and host the world’s first online martial arts championships. Now our online students can compete against one another (and any other martial artists) to prove themselves on the world stage.

You’ve signed up to learn Shotokan Karate through the Global Martial Arts University.  You pay your fee and you’ve begun to watch videos and practice.  Wouldn’t it be nice to know what hurdles YOU face studying martial arts online due to YOUR specific personality type-that other people who have a personality type different from yours, do NOT have to deal with or face?  Another way to look at this; how does your type of personality get in the way of advancing in online martial arts training? Furthermore; how can you leverage the benefits of YOUR personality type to maximize returns and advancement in online martial arts training?  The big question is: Is understanding your personality type key to excelling and progressing, and not dropping out of, online martial arts training? I say “Yes. Understand yourself and your chances of advancement in online martial arts training are significantly greater.”
